I cut the top rail into 2 6 pieces with the tapered flared end fitting into the end of the other piece. This is great if you don t have a ton of backyard space and need a slimmer stand. I made one last week that technically wasn t a turtle dog stand but it worked really well. I put a bolt and wing nut thru a horizontal hole drilled thru the assembled joint made by both pieces. I hiked it into hudson music festival and it stood up to the crazy thunderstorms that occurred. The pipe stand and calculator works great for my hennessy.
